AVERILL, Vt. — A Connecticut man is facing a DUI charge following a single-vehicle crash in Averill early Sunday morning.

Vermont State Police from the Derby Barracks responded to Forest Lake Road at approximately 12:56 a.m. on July 21 after receiving a report of a crash. Troopers determined that the driver, 50-year-old Jonathan Pataki of Norwalk, Connecticut, showed signs of impairment during the investigation.

Pataki was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence and processed at the Derby Barracks. He was later released with a citation to appear in Essex County Superior Court on August 19, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.
