On Wednesday, Newark Public Safety reported the arrests of five individuals connected to a series of shootings that took place between January 6 and January 24, 2025.
The first arrest occurred on January 6, when Satira A. Jenkins, 32, from Newark, was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. The following day, on January 7, 50-year-old Luis J. Centeno Cruz, also from Newark, was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon.
On January 10, Monasha I. Lang, 32, from East Orange, and Marc A. Greene, 33, from Roselle Park, were both apprehended and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Finally, on January 24, Justin A. Gonzalez, 24, from Newark, was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon, bringing the total to five arrests related to these incidents.
