In their first game of the 2024 season, the Endicott football team secured a resounding victory, defeating St. Lawrence with a score of 44-13 in Canton, New York. This win improved the Gulls’ record to 4-2 against St. Lawrence.
The defense put up an impressive show, holding the Saints to just 153 yards on offense, including 25 rushing yards and 128 receiving yards, averaging 3.00 yards per play. Hector Johnson from Worcester, Massachusetts stood out with a team-high-tying five tackles, while Danny Fleming from Tewksbury, Mass. also made a significant impact, notching a career-high five tackles.
Quarterback Clayton Marengi delivered an outstanding performance, throwing three touchdown passes. He connected with Jayson Little twice and also found Shane Aylward for another touchdown. Marengi himself also scored his first rushing touchdown of the season. Additionally, Michael Vecchione contributed two rushing touchdowns to kick off the season.
