In Bill O’Brian’s first ever home game at Alumni Stadium, Eagles first play Treshaun Ward congratulates Bill O’Briens debut with a RED ZONE TOUCHDOWN given to him by Thomas Castellanos. Dequesne Dukes tried to respond back but couldn’t. BC could see that Duke couldn’t stop them in the first quarter, BC responded with a 72 passing yard touchdown from Thomas Castellanos to Reed Harris, starting the game 14-0 for Boston College. 1st Quarter BC was killer all around with 126 passing yards, 39 rushing yards. The Duquesne Dukes had nothing going on in the 1st quarter with only 21 rushing yards, and 25 passing yards.
Second Quarter was no different than the first for Boston College Khari Johnson with a pick 6.after a no huddle shotgun pass to Joey Isabella, a 45 yard return to make the game 21-0 to start the second quarter for Boston College. The momentum was with Boston College all game with the 6,000 students and 33,000 people watching at Alumni Stadium, Thomas Castellano hits Kamari Morales with a 4 yard touchdown, making that 4 touchdowns by Thomas Castellano(62 passing yards)and the score for BC 28-0. Duke did not have any answers for Thomas and the Eagles keeping their score at 0 while Lewis Bond gets another touchdown for the Eagles with a 49 passing yard touchdown again by Thomas Castellano, making that 5 TDs for Castellano today and the score 35 to nothing .Thomas Castellano is the only other Boston College QB since Anthony Brown to have 3 touchdown passes with 30+ yards since 2018.
Third Quarter the Eagles did not hold back with the lead they were holding, Datrell Jones came out for Boston College with an interception of QB Jalen Cheek, rushing up the middle for a gain of 47 yards and a touchdown making the lead expanding to 42-0. Boston College shut out an opponent and went over 50 points for the first time since the 2021 season opener against Colgate (9/4/2021), a 51-0. The 56 points were also the most since a 58-point performance at Syracuse (11/2/2019)
