In a thrilling Saturday showdown at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, the Boston College Eagles dominated Duquesne with a 56-0 victory in their first-ever match-up. The win propelled the Eagles to a 2-0 start to the season.

The Eagles soared into the game early in the first quarter when Treshaun Ward notched his first red zone rushing touchdown, marking his second touchdown. Lombardo’s successful extra-point attempt put the Eagles in the lead 7-0.

Boston College continued to impress as the first quarter drew to a close with a minute and twenty seconds remaining. Thomas Castellanos connected with Reed Harris, who sprinted 68 yards for a spectacular passing/receiving touchdown. Lombardo’s extra point attempt further solidified the Eagles’ lead at 14-0.

The second quarter saw more Eagles domination. With 13:28 on the clock, Perrantes’ pass to Joey Isabella was intercepted by Khari Johnson, who returned it for a touchdown. The successful point-after attempt by Lombardo extended the Eagles’ lead to 21-0. Then, at 7:59 on the clock, Castellanos found Kamari Morales for another touchdown, making it 28-0 after Lombardo’s successful extra point. Moments later, at 5:31 on the clock, Castellanos connected with Lewis Bond for a three-yard touchdown, and the successful point-after attempt stretched the Eagles’ lead to 35-0. The action continued with just 51 seconds remaining in the second quarter as Castellanos linked up with Treshaun Ward for his second touchdown, resulting in the Eagles’ commanding 42-0 lead after Lombardo’s extra point.

The Eagles maintained their momentum in the third quarter, as Datrell Jones secured the team’s second rushing touchdown, extending their lead to 49-0 with a successful point-after attempt.

The final quarter saw Jacobe Robinson scoring his first red zone rushing touchdown of the season, marking the Eagles’ third rushing touchdown of the game. Liam Connor’s successful point-after attempt sealed the Eagles’ dominant 56-0 victory with just 1:26 remaining in the game.

The standout performance of the game came from Thomas Castellanos, who achieved the first four-passing touchdown game of his career, amassing 234 yards on 9-for-10 passing. His outstanding performance marked the most touchdown passes by an Eagle since Emmett Morehead’s feat against Duke on November 4, 2022.
