Springfield, MA. Police Arrest Fugitive Wanted For Fentanyl Trafficking

Early Friday morning around 1:20 a.m., Springfield, Massachusetts Police received a tip that Kenen Monsanto-Maldona, who was wanted on three warrants, was at the Le Souk Hookah Lounge in Springfield.
When officers found Monsanto-Maldona, he attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. In his attempt to escape, he caused damage to multiple hookahs, a window, and the emergency exit door by kicking and thrashing around. Despite his efforts, the officers managed to arrest him. During the arrest, Monsanto-Maldona threatened to kill a police officer.
Monsanto-Maldona is facing multiple charges. The first warrant against him was for Heroin/Fentanyl Trafficking and 14 counts of Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law. The second warrant was for Heroin/Fentanyl Trafficking and Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug. The third warrant was for Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug, and Resisting Arrest.
In addition to the outstanding warrants, Monsanto-Maldona now faces new charges including Malicious Destruction of Property valued at more than $1200, Disorderly Conduct, Threat to Commit a Crime, Resisting Arrest, and three counts of Assault & Battery on a Police Officer.
