Boston Bruins Suffer Late Game-Winning Goal in Loss to Philadelphia Flyers

The Boston Bruins faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon. The Bruins are coming off a 5-2 loss on Thursday night against the New York Rangers. Also on Thursday night, the Flyers lost in overtime to the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2, but yet they have a two-game point streak where they won 4-3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Bruins have won their first two games against the Flyers this season, which includes most recently last Saturday in a 6-5 affair.

After a quiet first period, Travis Konecny scored the first goal of the game with just under two minutes left in the second period.

The third period was where all the action occurred, as Justin Brazeau started the period off with his fifth goal of the season, and fourth in the last three games. After that, Konecny scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Morgan Frost and Owen Tippett.

Danton Heinen had the equalizer before Tyson Forester of Philadelphia won it for the Flyers with under two minutes left in the game.

Linus Ullmark had 26 saves in the loss while Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson had 18 saves on 20 shots on goal.

The Bruins will be continuing on their six-game road trip when they travel to Florida to face the Panthers on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on NESN/NESN360.
