Boston Celtics Down Detroit Pistons 109-102

The Boston Celtics faced the Detroit Pistons on Friday night at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI. The Celtics entered the matchup on a seven-game winning streak, while the Pistons had lost their last five games. The Celtics are atop the Eastern Conference while being 11 games ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Three starters were missing from the lineup of the Celtics with Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, and Al Horford all inactive with injuries. Holiday is missing his third straight game with a shoulder injury. Tatum was out with a ankle injury for the second game in five days, and Horford had a toe injury.

The Pistons were also shorthanded as their top-five player down at the post, including Isaiah Stewart who is out for the remainder of the season after suffering an hamstring injury in the loss at TD Garden against the Celtics on Monday.

Xavier Tillman started at power forward for the first time in a Celtics uniform after being acquired at the Trade Deadline. Peyton Pritchard started his second game of the season due to the three inactives.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 33 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Pritchard dropped 20 points, while Porzingis and White both scored 19 points and Sam Hauser scored 14 off the bench. White also had a double-double along with his points, with 11 assists.

The teams were tied at 42 in the second period, however the Celtics were able to put on a run of 47-21 that lasted the rest of the second quarter and portions of the third quarter, which put the game away for the Celtics into their 129-102 win.

The Boston Celtics will be facing the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in Chicago at 8 p.m. tomorrow night. That game will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Boston.
