Yowza Yowza Houser! Sam Houser, with a career high 30 points, hits 10 three pointers and may have broken the record of 11 had he not tweaked his ankle in the third quarter. The Wizards sit dead last in the NBA, with the record of 11-56 while the Celtics hold the best record in the NBA at 52-14.
The absence of Jalen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis were insignificant and the Celtic managed to control the game throughout all four quarters. 30 points from Jason Tatum help to solidify what one could call an easy win.
Although Jordan Poole was game high scorer with 31 points, Boston held a comfortable lead and were able to sit their starters throughout most of the third and fourth quarter. Hitting 24 three pointers out of 50 attempted, the Celtics became the only team to hit 20 or more 3-pointers and three consecutive games.
With only a few games left in the tail end of the season the Celtics stroll comfortably into playoff contention. Being outscored in the paint is probably the only flaw one can find in the Celtics game against the Wizards but with an onslaught of three-pointers these points in the paint seem to be a small problem to adjust.
Credit given to Luke Kornet who fills in for Porzingis and holds down the big man position and rim protection. “The most impressive to me was that everything was in the flow of the offense,” said Al Horford in reference to Sam Houser being one 3 pointer away from tying the Celtics record and four away from the NBA record.
Celtics will host Detroit on Monday night while the Wizards will host Houston on Tuesday
