Former New England Patriots player Sergio Brown has been charged with the murder of his mother after being detained in Mexico. 73-year old Myrtle Brown was found dead in a creek near her home in September.

He was deported back to San Diego after being arrested and is awaiting extradition to Maywood, IL. He faces a first-degree murder charge for the slaying of his mother.

Brown was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2010 and also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills.
