The Boston Celtics took on the Philadelphia 76ers in NBA preseason action at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday night. This was the second time this preseason the two teams met with the C’s coming out on top 114-106 in Boston on Sunday.
Boston outscored the Sixers in the first three quarters, although Philadelphia kept it close in the first half as the Celtics led by just eight, 67-59, at halftime.
The third quarter is when the C’s started to pull away, outscoring the 76ers 23-16. Despite being outscored 26-22 in the final frame, they came away with the 112-101 win, their second of the preseason.
Payton Pritchard led the way for Boston, scoring 17 points on 7 of 15 shooting from the field. Four Celtics starters scored in double figures, including three – Kristaps Porzingis, newly acquired Jrue Holiday and Derrick White – all scoring 11 points. Sam Hauser added 15 to lead all starters.
The C’s next preseason game is next Tuesday night when they host the New York Knicks. Tip-off from TD Garden is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
