The Connecticut Sun fell to the New York Liberty 92-81 and went down 2-1 in the best of five series. The Sun are now on the brink of elimination.

The New York Liberty had all five starters score in double figures. WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win. Jonquel Jones also has a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. 

Betnijah Laney was the second highest scorer for the Liberty with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu and Courtney Vandersloot also scored in double figures. Ionescu had 16 points and five assists while Vandersloot finished the night with 12 points while dishing out 7 assists.

For the Sun Alyssa Thomas was one rebound shy of the triple double. Thomas had 23 points, 14 assists, and nine rebounds.

Tiffany Hayes and DeWanna Bonner also contributed to the scoring. Hayes finished with 16 points and six rebounds while Bonner had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa was put into the starting lineup with the absence of Rebecca Allen. Nelson-Ododa finished the night with 14 points, three rebounds, and two blocks.

Tyasha Harris was the only bench scorer from either team to score in double figures with 11 points while also having three assists.

The Connecticut Sun look to keep their playoff hopes alive on Sunday when they take on the New York Liberty for game 4 of the WNBA semifinals. Tip-off is scheduled 3:00PM EST
