Friday night at Fenway in Boston, the Red Sox will host the Chicago White Sox for game one of three. Friday night is also the Red Sox first game of the final homestand of the season for the Sox.

The Red Sox have lost 6 of their last 7 games, 8 of their last 10, and 12 of their last 15, and went 1-5 on their 6-game road trip.

At home, the Red Sox lead the majors in AVG (.282). They also rank 3rd in OBP (.348) and OPS (.807), and 4th in SLG (.459).

The last time Boston and Chicago met was June 23-25 at Guaranteed Rate Field, and Chicago won the 3-game series, 2-1. Since 2021, the Red Sox are 6-10 against the White Sox, but 20-17 against them from 2017-23.

Chris Sale, who recorded his 81st career 10-strikeout game, and his 46th with the Red Sox, will be the starter Friday night for Boston.

In four starts against the White Sox, Sale is 2-1 with a 3.96 ERA (25.0 IP, 11 ER, 5 BB, 39 SO).

Friday nights game will be live on NESN with Sale scheduled to throw the first pitch at 7:10 PM
