After seven years in the minors, the Toronto Blue Jays called up Davis Schneider on Friday, a 28th round pick in 2017.

Friday night, while making his Major League debut, he drove the very first pitch he saw over the iconic Green Monster. Since that pitch, Davis has refused to stop hitting and leaves Boston hitting .692 (9-13) with two home runs and five RBI’s in the three-game sweep.

With Sundays 13-1 Win, Toronto moved five games ahead of the last-place Red Sox in the AL East for the third and final American League wild-card spot. The third-place Blue Jays lost their first seven games against Boston this season before the three-game sweep at Fenway Park.

Triston Casas lead Boston’s offense with a 414 foot, solo home run in the fourth inning off Toronto’s starter, Chris Bassett.

Boston is back home Monday night to kick off a series against the Kansas City Royals.
