At College Park Center in Arlington, TX the Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings met for their second matchup of the 2023 season. The Sun pulled off a late fourth quarter rally to grab an 88-83 win, and lead the 2023 series 2-0.
DeWanna Bonner led the Sun with 32 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. 13 of Bonner’s 32 points came in the fourth quarter in the come from behind victory. Bonner went 11-11 from the free throw line.
With 32 points on the night, Bonner moved into 11th all-time in scoring in franchise history, passing Renee Montgomery (1,814).
Tiffany Hayes added a season-high 28 points, four rebounds and five assists in Tuesday night’s win. Hayes was a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe.
Connecticut shot 43.9% (29-66) from the field, while holding Dallas to 40.8% (31-76) from the floor on the night.
Next up for the Connecticut Sun is the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, July 30 at 1:00 PM ET in the first of a two-game homestand at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
