By DJ Harding-
Friday Night June 19th Mayor Michelle Wu and the Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment hosted Celebration Of Summer: Donna Summer Disco Party.
Located at Boston City Hall the party looked to honor Legend Donna Summer. Summers, who is a Boston Native, was born in Dorchester and raised in Mission Hill before her rise to stardom in the 1970s.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and five time Grammy Award winner died in 2012 on May 17 at the age of 62.
This event looks to honor her life, celebrate her music, and legacy in Boston.
This event has a disco party with DJ Vince 1 providing the music along with a roller skating rink.
“The disco vibes are amazing” a bystander at the party told me. “A great way to honor Donna Summer while also giving people a fun way to spend their Friday night.”
There were also food trucks along with free Ice Cream as the event went on from 6PM to 9PM.
While some people roller skated around the rink other danced the night away.
