Boston Bruins Best New York Islanders, 6-2

The Boston Bruins hosted the New York Islanders faced off at TD Garden in Boston, MA on Saturday afternoon. The Bruins were looking to win their third consecutive game and their fourth in their fifth game in the month of February.

Jake DeBrusk scored the first goal of the game for the Bruins at 2:19 mark in the first period. The goal was assisted by Brad Marchand and David Pasternak.

The second goal, assisted by Derrick Forbort and A.J. Greer, was scored by Nick Foligno at the 9:15 mark in the first. The Bruins were up 2-0 at that point.

Foligno assisted on Boston’s third goal of the first period as Trent Fredric scored a tip-in goal with just under three minutes left in the period, making the score 3-0.

The Bruins would add three more in the second period en route to a 6-2 victory. With the win, Boston sweeps the season series over the Islanders, 3-0. 

Boston will welcome the Ottawa Senators to TD Garden on Monday. Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
