Revolution Acquire Blessing

The New England Revolution have acquired midfielder Latif Blessing from Los Angeles FC for $400,000 in 2023 General Allocated Money. LAFC could receive more money if certain performance metrics are meant.

Blessing is a 26 year old midfielder who started his career with Sporting Kansas City (2017), was drafted by LAFC via the 2018 MLS expansion draft he now leaves after playing 5 seasons (2018-2022). In his time at LAFC became the clubs all time leader in games played (146) and minutes played (9,749). Latif also ranks second in assists (23), fifth in both goals (14) and also fifth in shots (146). The attacking Midfielder owns 170 regular season appearances, 17 goals, 24 assists, with five more starts in the MLS cup playoff.

A native of Accra, Ghana Latif Blessing played in 30 games in 2022 en route to MLS Cup and Supporters Shields title. In 2019 he helped LAFC win their first Supporters Shield title where he set career highs in appearances (34), goals (6), and Assist (6). In 2017 his first season in the MLS he helped Sporting Kansas City win the Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup and prior to his first MLS season with SKC he won the 2016 Ghana Premier League Player of the Year with the Liberty Professionals where he led them in goals (17) in his first senior season.

Revolution Coach Bruce Arena when asked about blessing today said “Latif Blessing will be a very good addition to our team. He is a veteran MLS player with championship caliber experience, Latif’s speed and quickness are welcomed characteristics for our midfield. We look forward to his arrival in the preseason.”
