Late Monday morning, around 11:50 a.m., police in Stamford, Connecticut received a call they said was in reference to a possible kidnapping and a child who may have been harmed.
Further information Stamford Police received led them to Cummings Park. They say Officers responded, and the preliminary information was that 2-year-old Liam Rivera may have been buried in an area of Cummings Park.
Officers located a possible area with fresh dirt moved around and unearthed a plastic bag where 2-year-old Liam Rivera was inside.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined 2-year-old Liam Rivera died of homicide and the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the head.
On Tuesday morning at 1:15 a.m. Stamford Police arrested Edgar Ismelej, 26, the father of Liam Rivera. Stamford Police called him a suspect in the death of his child.
