Enmanuel Valdez And Abraham Almonte Both Hit 2 Homers In Worcester 14-5 Win

After losing three straight against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Friday night the Worcester Red Sox finally got a win. But they did it, beating the RailRiders 14-5 as Los Wepas de Worcester. 

Abraham Almonte cracked this game wide open at the top of the first with a homer to drive in Franchy Cordero and that gave Worcester an early 2-0 lead. But wait just one minute, before the top of the first would come to an end, Enmanuel Valdez hit his third homer to put Worcester on top 3-0.

Bottom of the first, Ben Rortvedt hit a single to help drive in Estevan Florial and make it 3-1 Worcester game. Top of the second, Kole Cottam made it over the plate to put Worcester on top 4-1 But at the bottom of the third the RailRiders made this a 4-3 game with Estevan Florial and Oswald Peraza both making it over the plate. 

Top of the fourth, Enmanuel Valdez hit his second homer of the game, fourth WooSox homer to drive in Franchy Cordero and Abraham Almonte to put Worcester on top 7-3. Bottom of the fourth, Oswaldo Cabrera hit a double for the RailRiders to drive in Chad Bell and that made this a 7-4 ballgame. 

After a scoreless fifth inning, at the top of the sixth Enmanuel Valdez hit a single to drive in Franchy Cordero and Abraham Almonte to put Worcester on top  9-4.Devlin Granberg then hit his tenth double of the season to drive in Enmanuel Valdez and Triston Casas to put Worcester on top 11-4.. 

Top of the seventh Abraham Almonte hit his second homer of the game, seventeenth of the season to drive in Jeter Downs and make this a Worcester, 13-4 game. Triston Casas hit his ninth homer of the season at the top of the eighth to make this a 14-4 Worcester game. 

The RailRiders wer not walking away from this game quietly and at the bottom of the ninth, Armando Alverez hit his 12th double of the season to drive in Oswald Peraza to close this game 14-5, Worcester win, Los Wepas de Worcester win.
