Worcester Losses 2-7 Against Buffalo And Fisher Cats Win 6-1 Against The Rumble Ponies

After winning two straight, the Worcester Red Sox who are on the road this week in Buffalo, lost Wednesday night 2-7 against the Bison. Gabriel Moreno kicked off this game with his second homer of the season to drive in Nathan Lukes and make it a 0-2 early lead for the Bison. Top of the second Christin Stewart scored to get Worcester into the game 1-2 Bison lead. A sac fly at the bottom of the fourth by Otto Lopez helped drive in Stevie Berman and put the Bison on top 1-3. Top of the eighth, Logan Warmoth hit his fourteenth double of the season to drive in Jordan Groshans and Tanner Morris to put the Bison on top 1-5, and before the inning would come to an end, Otto Lopez hit his sixth triple of the season to drive in Stevie Berman and Logan Warmoth to make it a 1-7 Bison lead. Worcester got in one more run at the top of the ninth with Abraham Almonte to make it a 2-7 Bison win.

The Fisher Cats Wednesday night rode the Rumble Ponies for a 6-1 win. Rumble Ponies got the first run of this game with Luke Ritter at the bottom of the first to make it 1-0. Top of the second, Phil Clarke hit his sixth double for the Fisher Cats to drive in John Aiello and make it a 1-1 game. After five scoreless innings, the Fisher Cats came for the attack at the top of the ninth. First with a homer by Rafael Lantigua to make it a 2-1 Fisher Cats lead, then Addison Barger hit a double to drive in Cam Eden to make it a 3-1 Fisher Cats game, and then to end it all and grab the win, Luis DE Santos hit a dinger to drive in John Aiello and Phil Clarke to secure a 6-1 win.

Worcester is back in action Thursday night for game three of their six-game set in Buffalo. And the Fisher Cats, they’ll be looking to get another win Thursday against Ponies.
