Hartford Yard Goats Wrapping Up Series Against Rumble Ponies Sunday

By Tiffany Williams –

Sunday night the Hartford Yard Goats will wrap up their six game series against the New York Mets affiliate, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The Yard Goats have won three of the first five games including a 14-4 victory on Thursday and an 8-3 win on Friday.

Sunday is the 15th of 24 games and third series against Binghamton. The Yard Goats have won 9 of their first 13 games against the Rumble Ponies at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.

RHP Karl Kauffmann makes his 15th start, third against Binghamton and seeking his sixth win of the season Sunday. Tuesday night against Binghamton, Kauffmann went six innings, allowing just two hits. No runs and struck out six in a 6-2 win.

Ezequiel Tovar is continuing to shine for Hartford and is leading EL in average and hits and 3B Aaron Schunk is leading EL in RBI and in doubles.

The goal for the Yard Goats is pretty easy Sunday. Just get that fourth win in six games to get their first series win in the second half.
