“Diamond Dining” Returning To Polar Park On May 28

Over the weekend the Worcester Red Sox announced “Diamond Dining” will be returning to the outfield grass at Polar Park, Saturday evening, May 28.

Fans can make reservations starting this Monday, May 9, for three seatings: 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8 p.m. Visit polarpark.com/dining.

From lobster rolls, chicken caprese, and steak tips to hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken tenders, a menu of delicious ballpark fare at family-friendly prices will contribute to a warm and welcoming springtime atmosphere, filled with music and mascots.

Smiley Ball and Woofster the WonderDog will be among those who sign autographs, pose for photos, and play with children on the beautiful outfield lawn.

“We have long imagined an ‘enchanted evening’ on Worcester’s new ‘Field of Dreams,’” said Dr. Charles A. Steinberg, the club’s president. “Diamond Dining seeks to provide an elegant, gentle atmosphere full of fun and ballpark fare that creates even more treasured moments and memories for couples, friends, and families from throughout Central Massachusetts and beyond.”

In June of 2020, the Pawtucket Red Sox introduced “Dining on the Diamond” at McCoy Stadium when outdoor dining resumed during the pandemic. The socially-distanced event became a summertime phenomenon, with 2,300 reservations, 9,700 participants, sell outs on 34 dates, and a never-fulfilled waiting list of 3,700 reservations. The New York Times chronicled the innovative ballpark experience.

Parking is available throughout Downtown Worcester, including the new Green Island Boulevard garage right across the street from Polar Park’s Gate D at the DCU Plaza. Large, clean, and accessible restrooms will be open on the main concourse. In the event of rain, “Diamond Dining” will move undercover on the main concourse.
