North Attleboro Public Schools Superintendent John Antonucci, called an attack on a transgender North Attleboro High School student, “deeply upsetting and disturbing.”
The student who was attacked following a high school basketball game Tuesday night by students from Foxboro at North Attleboro High School, is doing okay physically and Antonucci says the incident “in no way reflects the values and principles of North Attleboro Public Schools.”
The incident allegedly started inside the high school with students from Foxboro and then later outside in the parking lot the student was physically attacked and verbally assaulted.
Police are investigating the incident and Foxboro Superintendent Amy Berdos is also speaking out, saying “Acts of hate and discrimination have no place in our community.”
