Missing Hiker Found Dead In Leominster State Forest

Tuesday morning, Massachusetts State Police confirmed that they searching for a missing male hiker in the Leominster State Forest.

MSP Special Emergency Response Team, K9 Unit, Air Wing, Troop C personnel as well as the Princeton Police were actively searching the area throughout the morning.

Tuesday afternoon, MSP confirmed that missing hiker had been located and the Worcester County District Attorney’s office confirmed that the hiker was dead.

In a statement the Worcester County District Attorney’s office identified the missing hiker as Akif S. Qutab. The DA’s office said, “After an extensive search by Massachusetts State Police Field Service assets, the body of Akif S. Qutab was discovered this morning in the woods in Westminster, near the Princeton line.”

The DA’s office says that the death of Qutab is under investigation by the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
