Just before 6:00 p.m., State Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of mile marker 13.8 on I-91 in Holyoke.
After conducting a preliminary investigation, State Police have determined that the operator of a Subaru with a New York registration, traveling the wrong way on I-91 in Holyoke (North in the Southbound lane), was involved in a crash with another vehicle.
The second vehicle, with a Connecticut registration, carried two occupants. Both vehicle operators were determined to be deceased at the scene.
The passenger of the second vehicle is in critical condition.
State Police say that the facts and circumstances of the crash, including what caused the Subaru operator to drive the wrong way, are under investigation.
