Saturday night, the Celtics against the Nets at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn for game 1 of the NBA Playoffs. The final here was 93-204, the Nets beat the Celtics.
Tatum played 41 minutes, had 22 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Smart played 40 minutes, had 17 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Walker played 27 minutes, had 15 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Robert Williams played 23 minute, had 11 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Fournier played 39 minutes, had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Parker played 22 minutes, had 9 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Nesmith played 17 minutes, had 5 points and 4 rebounds. Thompson played 25 minutes, had 4 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists.
Scoring By Quarter:
In the first quarter it was a Celtics game, 21-16. In the second quarter it remained a Celtics game by just one point, 32-31. Brooklyn took control of the game in the third quarter with an eleven point lead, 31-20. In the fourth and final quarter Brooklyn had a six point lead, 26-29.
The Celtics let game one of the playoffs slip away to the Brooklyn Nets. History truly repeats itself. The Nets have won eight straight playoff games against the Celtics and are 9-2, with a six-game victory in the 2002 Eastern Conference finals and a sweep in the 2003 East semis. It’s the Nets’ highest and Celtics’ lowest winning percentage against an opponent in the postseason.
