Saturday was a great day for baseball in the Canal District at Polar Park. The Worcester Red Sox played the Buffalo Bisons Saturday in game five of a six game series between these two teams.
On Tuesday night in game one, Worcester won 9-4. On Wednesday night, Buffalo Bisons won game two 4-1. On Thursday night, Worcester Red Sox won 4-1. Friday night, the Bisons won 6-4.
Worcester remains in that number four slot for the Triple A Northeast with nine wins and having lost seven.
At the top of the first Christian Colon scored to get the Bisons on the board 1-0. In the bottom of the first, Worcester Red Sox Jarren Duran scored to get the Woo Sox on the board and make it a 1-1 tie game and that was followed up by two back-to-back homers by Jeter Downs and Yairo Munoz to make it a 3-1 game.
In the bottom of the second, Chris Herrmann and Jett Bandy both scored to make it a 5-1 Worcester game.
In the bottom of the fourth, Jarren Duran hit a homer to make it a 6-1 Worcester game.
Top of the sixth, Christian Colon hit a homer down left field to make it a 6-2 game, Worcester lead. In the bottom of the sixth, Jarren Duran hit his second homer of the game to make it a 7-2, Worcester game.
In the top of the eigth, Bisons Forrest Wall scored to make it a 7-3 game, Worcester lead.
Top of the nineth, Riley Adams scored to make it a 4-7 game, Worcester lead.
The Worcester Red Sox won game five 7-4, against the Buffalo Bisons. Jarren Duran was the MVP of this game with five at bats, he had three runs, five hits and three RBI’s.
