A federal grand jury indicted Omar Ramos-Jimenez, 27, of Worcester on fentanyl distribution and unlicensed firearm dealing charges, prosecutors announced Friday. The indictment follows allegations that he sold drugs and several guns to confidential informants in Worcester.

Ramos-Jimenez faces two counts involving at least 40 grams of fentanyl, another fentanyl distribution count and one count of dealing firearms without a license. Prosecutors allege the transactions occurred between April 8 and April 16 and included a privately manufactured pistol without a serial number.

He was arrested and charged in May and released on conditions after a September 21 appearance in federal court in Worcester. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan O’Shea is prosecuting the case.

The investigation involved federal agencies, Worcester police and Massachusetts State Police. The charges are allegations, and Ramos-Jimenez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
