Off-Duty NYPD Detective Stabbed Multiple Times in Apparent Bronx Robbery Attempt

NEW YORK — An off-duty NYPD detective was stabbed multiple times Friday afternoon in the Bronx in what appeared to be an attempted robbery, sending the detective to the hospital as police launched a search for two suspects who fled the scene on an e-bike.
The attack occurred around 2 p.m. near East 206th Street and Rochambeau Avenue in the Norwood neighborhood. Police and law enforcement sources said the off-duty detective suffered stab wounds to the leg and torso during the incident.
The detective was rushed to Jacobi Hospital for treatment following the attack. Sources told NewsTalk New England the detective is in critical condition.
The violence triggered a search for two suspects who escaped from the area following the stabbing. According to law enforcement sources, the two suspects fled the scene on an e-bike.
