INDUSTRY, Maine — A section of Route 43 in Industry will close beginning July 29 as the Maine Department of Transportation moves forward with a large culvert replacement project expected to require a month-long road closure.
According to MaineDOT, the affected section of Route 43 will remain closed for 30 days, with the closure scheduled to continue through August 26.
During that time, drivers will be required to use a detour utilizing Mosher Hill Road and Savage Road.
The department said both motorists and pedestrians should follow the posted detour map and all detour signs while traveling through the area.
Officials are also advising drivers to expect delays and to use caution while traveling through the detour zone during construction.
The culvert replacement project is part of MaineDOT’s ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure across the state.
Construction associated with the project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
The contractor for the project is GCA Construction of Avon, Maine.
The contract for the work is valued at $599,999.80.
MaineDOT is encouraging travelers to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and remain alert while crews are working in and around the construction area over the coming weeks.
