STAMFORD, Conn. — A late-night pursuit along Interstate 95 spiraled into a high-stakes arrest involving weapons, multiple violations, and a suspect now facing a long list of charges after what police describe as a dangerous chain of events stretching across multiple exits.

According to a Criminal Information Summary released by Connecticut State Police, the incident began on April 17, 2026, at approximately 2339 hours, when Troop G dispatch received a report of a gray Toyota Rav4 with New Hampshire registration involved in a hit-and-run crash in Stamford.

What followed was a fast-moving and escalating situation.

Stamford Police quickly engaged, entering into a pursuit of the vehicle as it traveled northbound on I-95 near exit 10. The pursuit continued until Stamford Police reported terminating their involvement near exit 13. But the situation didn’t end there.

State troopers picked it up.

Troopers located the vehicle near exit 18 and attempted to initiate a stop. The driver did not comply. The vehicle kept going. Authorities say troopers ultimately boxed in the vehicle, bringing it to a stop on I-95 northbound near exit 26.

The driver was taken into custody.

Investigators say what they found inside the vehicle raised the stakes even further. A firearm was recovered, along with what police describe as an SOG tomahawk axe and a 12-inch Sogfari black machete.

The operator of the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Amy G Palchevski of Goffstown, New Hampshire, now faces a sweeping list of charges tied to the incident.

Authorities allege violations including reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, traffic control violations, failure to display lights, failure to insure a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, interfering with an officer, reckless endangerment, and multiple weapons-related offenses, including illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal sale or purchase of a large capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, and ammunition certificate violations.

Police say Palchevski was held on a $100,000 cash bond.

Following her arrest, she was transported to York Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Authorities have not indicated any injuries resulting from the incident.
