Ashland – The Ashland Police Department is teaming up with Market Basket to host a community food drive aimed at supporting local families in need.
The event will take place on April 3 and April 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Market Basket in Ashland. Officers and volunteers will be stationed outside the store, collecting donations directly from shoppers as they enter or leave.
Organizers are encouraging residents to consider purchasing a few extra items during their visit to help stock the Ashland Food Pantry. Donations of all sizes are welcome and will go directly toward assisting individuals and families facing food insecurity within the community.
Items most needed include canned soups, stews, and chowders, as well as canned meats and fish. Other requested goods include cereal, instant oatmeal, baking essentials such as flour and sugar, cooking oil, condiments, and snack items. Personal hygiene products, baby wipes, diapers, and standard Ashland trash bags are also in high demand.
Officials say community support plays a vital role in ensuring the pantry can continue to meet the needs of residents, especially during challenging times.
Residents planning to shop at Market Basket during the event are encouraged to participate and help make a difference.
