Marshfield – A man has been arrested following a child exploitation investigation involving local and state authorities.
According to police, the investigation was conducted by the Marshfield Police Department Detective Unit in partnership with the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit.
Police began looking into allegations involving the electronic receipt of illegal material. Investigators obtained court-authorized subpoenas for internet service records, which led them to identify Nicholas Miller, 32, of Marshfield, as the subscriber connected to the activity. Detectives then conducted surveillance and secured a search warrant for his residence at the Castle Green Apartment Complex.
On March 30, officers executed the warrant and seized multiple electronic devices. During the search, investigators reported locating images consistent with child pornography.
Miller was taken into custody and charged with possession of child pornography. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking before being transferred to Plymouth District Court for arraignment.
Police stated that a full forensic analysis of the seized devices will be conducted, and additional charges may be filed depending on the results. Investigators are also working to determine the origin of the material.
Police emphasized that the investigation remains active.
All charges are allegations, and Miller is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
