Stratford, CT – On Saturday, March 28, at approximately 1:14 a.m., officers from the Stratford Police Department responded to 74 Feeley Street for a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound and bleeding heavily. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
The victim has been identified as Terrence Cramer, of Stevens Street in Bridgeport. Cramer was an active-duty firefighter with the Bridgeport Fire Department for 9.5 years.
Detectives assigned to the Stratford Police Detective Bureau responded and initiated an investigation shortly after 2:00 a.m.
Later that day, at 4:30 p.m., Jabari Bush, also 41, was taken into custody in Derby following a brief motor vehicle pursuit.
Bush was arrested on a felony warrant with assistance from the Bridgeport Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office, led by State’s Attorney Joseph Corradino.
He is facing the following charges: Murder, Home Invasion, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
Bush is being held on a $2,000,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 30.
The Stratford Police Department expressed appreciation for assistance provided by the New Haven Police Department, Seymour Police Department, Shelton Police Department, Derby Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police.
Bush is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
