Boston Legacy of the National Women’s Soccer League [NWSL] hosted the defending champion Gotham FC in their first ever home game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on Saturday. The expansion franchise set a new league record for attendance in a home debut as 30,207 attended the game.
Unfortunately, those fans were unable to see the Legacy win their first game in franchise history as Gotham spoiled the show, winning this match by a final score of 1-0. The lone goal of the game came by way of Esther Gonzalez in the 55th minute.
The Legacy will be back home next Saturday, March 28 as they take on Utah Royals FC. The match is set to begin at noon ET.
