Boston – Boston Police District A-7 recently joined participants in the department’s Learn to Skate Program for another successful day on the ice at Tall Ship Boston.
Following the recent snowfall across the region, the program provided an ideal opportunity for participants to spend extra time developing their skating abilities while enjoying the winter activity. Officers worked alongside the skaters, helping them focus on core skating fundamentals such as balance, movement, and control, while encouraging and supporting one another on the ice. The program aims not only to teach skating skills but also to build confidence, teamwork, and positive connections between youth and Boston police officers.
Organizers say the Learn to Skate Program continues to grow in popularity as it offers a welcoming environment for beginners and returning skaters alike.
The next Learn to Skate session is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 8 at 9:45 a.m. at Tall Ship Boston.
Community members interested in participating in or learning more about the program are encouraged to attend and join officers for a morning of skating and skill-building.
