Malden – On Feb 28, an officer of the Malden Police Department arrested a 36-year-old Brockton man.

According to Officer Cam Selfridge, the arrest resulted in the seizure of suspected crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. Officials have not released the individual’s name pending arraignment.

Police emphasize that while some may view individual drug arrests as routine, each enforcement action plays a critical role in community safety. Even the smallest quantity of narcotics can have devastating impacts on individuals and families, particularly substances such as Fentanyl, which have been linked to fatal overdoses across Massachusetts.

“Whether it’s one bag or one hundred, the risk to our community is real,” a department representative stated. “We will continue to take enforcement action whenever illegal drugs are brought into Malden.

Officers will continue the proactive patrols and investigations aimed at disrupting the distribution of illegal narcotics within the city limits.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
