Milford – At 4:37 p.m., the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an attempted stabbing at a residence on Fells Ave on Feb. 22.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered a male. The male suspect, later identified as Alexandre Leite, originally told police no incident had occurred.

The reporting party stated that Leite had threatened them and family members with a large kitchen knife. A physical struggle occurred over the knife, after which the reporting party stated they were able to reach safety. Leite eventually left the residence.

Officers took Leite into custody at 4:55 p.m. without incident.

Leite is facing charges including assault with intent to Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife), Assault and Battery on a Household member, Threats to commit a crime, and an Arrest Warrant.

He was being held at the Milford Police Department on $10,000 bail pending arraignment in Milford District Court.

Leite is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
