Salina, NY – At approximately 2145 hours, on February 16, 2026. The New York State Police responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute in the Town of Salina, Onondaga County.
Upon the arrival, a female victim was located by troopers who reported she had been assaulted and forcibly raped inside the residence. The suspect was identified as 43-year old Felix S. Geel, of Syracuse. Mr. Geel was located inside of the residence and taken into custody without incident by troopers.
An investigation was conducted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Lafayette. The victim was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Mr. Geel was charged with:
- Rape in the First Degree (Class B Felony)
- Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class E Felony)
- Assault in the Third Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation (Class A Misdemeanor)
as a result of the investigation.
Geel was processed and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center. He was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part of the Court on February 17, 2026. He was ordered held without bail.
This investigation remains ongoing.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
