Boston cops are asking for the public’s help tracking down a woman accused of attacking a security guard and stealing from a CVS in the Back Bay.
Police say the assault and theft went down around 5:13 p.m. Thursday at the CVS Pharmacy on Boylston Street near Copley Square. According to investigators, a woman walked in, grabbed merchandise, and assaulted a store security worker before bolting out the door without paying.
The suspect is described as a Black female, about 30 years old, last seen wearing a red jacket and white shorts. After the attack, she lingered outside the store for a moment before taking off in an unknown direction.
Boston Police are urging anyone who recognizes the woman or has information about the incident to step up. Tips can be shared anonymously by calling 1-800-494-TIPS, texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463), or visiting the Boston Police CrimeStoppers website. Photos and videos can also be submitted through those channels, and officials say all anonymous tipsters’ identities will be protected.
Police are continuing to investigate the case and reviewing surveillance footage from the scene.
