A Vermont man was busted early Saturday after a New Hampshire State Trooper caught him barreling the wrong way down Interstate 293 in Bedford.
Just before 1 a.m., Trooper Madelynn Theve of Troop B was heading north on I-293 when she spotted a vehicle coming straight at her in the northbound lanes. Theve hit her lights, stopped the car near mile marker 3.2, and pulled the driver over without incident.
The man behind the wheel was identified as 36-year-old Benjamin Mueller of White River Junction, Vermont. Mueller was cuffed and charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and reckless driving. He’s due in Merrimack District Court on November 4.
No one was injured in the close call, but State Police say it could have ended far worse.
