A 27-year-old Manchester woman has been arrested after police say she mowed down a pedestrian outside a Taco Bell, fled the scene, and later turned herself in.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the fast-food joint on Second Street, where officers found 60-year-old Juliana Harbeck of Rindge with life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to a hospital but didn’t make it.
Investigators quickly identified the driver as Maria Camila Posada Canizales. After nearly a week on the run, she surrendered Monday and was slapped with a felony conduct-after-an-accident charge.
Canizales is being held pending a court appearance.
