Boston, MA – NewsTalk New England (NTNE) today announced a leadership transition as Daryl “DJ” Harding Jr. steps down from his role as President/CEO to focus on his senior year studies at Howard University. Harding has been a vital member of the NTNE team over the past three years, serving in roles from NABJ HBCU intern, to reporter, and ultimately to President/CEO.
“We are deeply grateful for DJ’s dedication, vision, and leadership. He has helped make NTNE a stronger and more innovative outlet today than it was three years ago,” said Mesfin Beshir, Chairman of the NTNE Board of Directors and co-founder of NTNE. “While we are sad to see him step back, we celebrate his next chapter and look forward to his continued success.”
Following a vote by the Board of Directors, Stephen Ur III has been appointed as the new President/CEO of NewsTalk New England. Ur previously served as NTNE’s Sports Director (VP of Sports) before departing the organization earlier this year.
“I am honored to return to NewsTalk New England in this new capacity,” said Stephen Ur III. “This organization has always been close to my heart, and I look forward to building on the strong foundation DJ and the team have created. Together, we will expand our programming, deepen community connections, and continue to be a leading voice in independent news and conversation.”
Over the next several weeks, NTNE will be implementing internal changes to operations, shows, content, and programming to strengthen its reach and impact.
