BOSTON — About 3:02 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, Boston police officers assigned to District B-2 in Roxbury responded to the area of 94 Crawford Street for a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following an investigation, District B-2 Detectives identified the shooter, who had fled the scene in a motor vehicle. A description of the suspect and vehicle was broadcast to officers, and the vehicle was later located near 140 Wellington Hill, where multiple shell casings were observed inside. The vehicle was towed pending further investigation.
Detectives made contact with the suspect and placed him under arrest. An apartment was secured pending a search warrant. Willieyer Barkon, 26, of Charlestown, is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges including armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and intentional or reckless discharge of a firearm striking a dwelling.
