- Clutch Fourth Inning – Worcester’s offense broke through with three runs in the fourth, fueled by a Zavala double and a two-run single from Phillip Sikes, his first RBI since August 1.
- Harrison Battles Through Five – Kyle Harrison gave Worcester five innings, allowing three runs but keeping the WooSox in the game. He owns a 1.80 ERA across his last three starts.
- Slaten’s Strong Return – On rehab from Boston, Justin Slaten looked sharp in his first outing since May, striking out the side in the sixth with his fastball reaching 97.6 mph.
- Bullpen Depth – Bryan Mata threw 2.2 scoreless innings and continued to lead International League relievers in strikeouts with 81.
- Kelly’s First Save – Zack Kelly closed the game with four straight outs, including a 1-2-3 ninth, earning his first Triple-A save of 2025.
- One-Run Success – Worcester improved to 15-14 in one-run games, showing growth in late-game execution and bullpen reliability.
- Jacksonville Threatened but Fell Short – The Jumbo Shrimp cut the deficit to 4-3 in the fifth, but they could not solve Worcester’s bullpen the rest of the way.
- Polar Park Debut for Jacksonville – This marked the first-ever visit to Worcester for the Miami Marlins’ Triple-A affiliate, adding extra buzz to the opener.
- A Night of Awareness and Recognition – Beyond the game, Polar Park hosted Prostate Cancer Awareness Night, recognizing Fans for the Cure and honoring Auburn Fire Lieutenant Eric Krupski, a cancer survivor and father of WooSox Productions’ Mikayla Krupski.
