PANTON, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday evening at a farm in the Addison County town of Panton.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 17, 2025, troopers responded to a residence at 4312 Jersey Street following reports of an altercation between two male farmworkers in their early 20s. According to police, one of the men stabbed and slashed the other with a broken bottle during the incident.
The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was flown to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for treatment. The second individual involved in the altercation was also located at the scene and brought to UVMMC for evaluation after reporting a head injury.
Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Field Force Division, and Victim Services Unit are conducting the investigation. Police said all parties involved have been identified, and there is no known threat to the public. No arrests have been made at this time.
The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family members and further investigation.
