JOHNSTON — A Providence man was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 6.

On July 17, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Rhode Island State Police arrested 32-year-old Maximiliano Recio of 116 West Clifford Street, Providence. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop conducted by troopers in the Town of Johnston.

Recio was charged with driving under the influence of liquor with a blood alcohol concentration between .10 and .15. Breathalyzer test results showed a BAC of 0.113% on Phase I and 0.123% on Phase II.

He was transported to Rhode Island State Police Headquarters for processing and held pending a morning arraignment, where he will be presented as a Superior Court probation violator.
