WORCESTER, Mass. — On Thursday, July 10, 2025, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers arrested a local man on fentanyl trafficking charges after executing search warrants at a Grant Street residence and a vehicle.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers observed Joel Alvarado Santos, 35, exit the residence and enter a vehicle. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Hollis Street and executed the warrant for the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the residence led officers to discover a large quantity of a substance believed to be fentanyl, individually packaged in several bags. Officers also located a digital scale and packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution.

Alvarado Santos was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking in a Class A Substance Over 200 Grams. He is expected to face arraignment in Worcester District Court.
