BOLTON, Conn. — On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Connecticut State Police from Troop K – Colchester arrested Nicholas Ninteau, 38, of Windham, on an active arrest warrant connected to a June 2025 incident involving drug use and child endangerment in Bolton.
The arrest stems from a police response in June to a report of two unconscious individuals inside a vehicle parked at a restaurant on Boston Turnpike. Upon arrival, Troopers determined that the occupants were suffering from a drug overdose. Life-saving measures were successfully deployed, and both individuals regained consciousness.
During the investigation, it was determined that Ninteau was operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. Troopers also discovered two young children—both under his care—had exited the vehicle and were found wandering the parking lot. Neither child was properly secured in a car seat, and they had managed to let themselves out of the vehicle without supervision.
Following a detailed investigation, Troopers obtained an arrest warrant, and Ninteau was taken into custody on July 9. He was transported to Troop K, where he was processed and charged with the following offenses:
- Transporting a Child Under 5 Without Restraint (C.G.S. 14-100a(d)(1)(B))
- Transporting a Child Under 8 Without Restraint (C.G.S. 14-100a(d)(1)(C))
- Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence with Child Passenger (C.G.S. 14-227m(c)(1))
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (C.G.S. 21a-279(a)(1))
- Risk of Injury to a Child (6 counts) (C.G.S. 53-21)
- Leaving a Child Under 12 Unsupervised in a Vehicle/Public Place (2 counts) (C.G.S. 53-21a(a)(1))
Ninteau was held on a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on July 10, 2025.
